The Poverty Trap

There are many reasons why people find themselves in debt.  It may be due to unemployment, divorce, illness, low income, addiction or the struggle to manage a budget.
The root causes of poverty are linked to a lack of money management skills, low income and unaffordable, rising debt repayments.

Whatever the reason, the consequences can be hunger, stress, shame, family breakdown, eviction, bankruptcy or even suicide.

CAP systems and procedures can overcome the root causes of poverty using a staged approach.
The CAP Solution. CAP offers a unique and practical solution to debt through debt management, financial education, budgeting and insolvency services.

Through this system, we help release families from the oppression of debt. CAP’s unique approach empowers people to help themselves out of poverty.

Vital financial and budgeting life skills are developed through CAP services thus ensuring poverty relief is sustainable.

Christians Against Poverty Australia

Christians Against Poverty Australia (CAP) is a national debt management charity that offers a face-to-face, comprehensive solution to those struggling under the burden of debt.  A unique combination of budgeting advice, creditor liaison, provision of a CAP Account and personal support we empower people to work themselves out of debt and transform their finances.

The Vision of Christian City Care

Christian City Care is about connecting people with their dreams for the relief from poverty of body, mind and spirit. To connect someone with their dream means to see it become a reality.  To do this we have two key programs, CAP which focus’s on financial poverty and COACH which is about the wide ranging poverty a family can face through things such as parenting skills, employment prospects, engagement with school and their wider community.
